Celebrating 300 Years: A Preview of Annual Conference 2008
"It's a lot more than a yearly event when matters of concern are discussed," states the introductory video on the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference website. The 2008 Annual Conference, July 12-16 in Richmond, Virginia, promises to be just that. The Conference will mark the 300th anniversary of the Church of the Brethren, and will convene as a joint conference with the Brethren Church, bringing the two denominations together in such a gathering for the first time since the 1880s. In this webcast, Annual Conference Moderator James M. Beckwith and Executive Director Lerry Fogle share information about just some of the exciting events planned for the Conference: joint worship services; a historical celebration; a drama about Ted Studebaker, a young man who was killed while serving peacefully in Vietnam; and concerts by Ken Medema and the National Christian Choir; plus a preview of the business items expected. You're invited to be renewed, energized and inspired at the 2008 Annual Conference!
